Understanding the big picture has been the key to my success. Throughout my career, I have led sales, marketing, and sales operations for global medical device and technology organizations. This experience equipped me to drive behavior and process transformation to create forward-thinking innovation and customer centricity.
My career has involved managing multi-million-dollar operating budgets and achieving desired P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, and EBITDA performance. I utilize market research and sales data to present opportunities to stakeholders, advising on the strategies that make sense commercially.
Large scale commercial organizations are fast-paced and complex. Data analytics allow me to slow down and gather insights for strategic decision making, using a 360° perspective to guide transformation and working with stakeholders across business functions to execute according to plan while tackling obstacles along the way.
There is no perfect. I believe you need to take calculated risks and learn from mistakes in order to stay current and relevant. By building a solid foundation and not repeating the same mistakes twice, I mitigate risk within acceptable tolerance levels and move on. My accountabilities have involved creating commercial brand awareness and a commercial discipline that is designed to achieve organizational growth.
I believe in situational leadership – creating an inclusive and open environment, gathering and aligning what each person needs to do and how they will do it. Leaders need to create a clear understanding of the “what and the why” to get everyone on the same page. Transformation comes with strategies that take into consideration that people move forward at different speeds. Change is an external variable that happens to the individual first, and they transform to adapt their new environment.
